Thank you, Azrael. I write about eldritch abominations, cannibalism and slavery, but there are some horrors too great to be named on these forums... :P

hmmm... based off the way the Eldest "lives" I would go for a psychic race taking him out via mind blast or something.

t's obvious that the Usurper will be attempting to tackle the other Suul'ka or will end up being tackled by one and it's loyalists Zuuls himself.

I have a feeling someone with a more personal stake in the matter might wind up handling that one..... Not saying anymore because of spoilers.
I do like your theories for the Bloodweaver and the Krakan though.

We know that each Suul'ka has a Zuul greatfather that is devoted to him.
What happened with the Zuul greatfather that devoted himself to the Hidden?
Did he find a new Lord to serve? (The Usurper perhaps?)

The Usurper's has a greatfather. The Recreant, so possibly not.
(Although reading though the Recreants bio... maybe?)

Interesting question though. I would like to know the answer.

I shall reply simply with this snipet :P :

Now, with the reveal of the Loa, does that mean it was them? Or was that meant in time?

Hmmmm.... Ok I'll take that, Loa defeats Eldest.
I just hope that they actually killed him. The possibility he could "live" psionically without any physical form has not been ruled out.

See this ( /viewtopic.php?f=41&t=20747&start=30 ) thread for what I am talking about.

Ok, it is a very interesting possibility, I like your idea. I can't wait to see how this develops.

Technically, when you consider how the Loa themselves "lives"(is they existed, I bet some would take offense to me using quotation marks however) they -can- be considered the anti-psychic races.

Let's see how the Eldest himself "lives": via draining off living beings of "life force" and "psionic energy".

Except, the loa do not generate psi energy themselves, nor do I think they actually have "life force" in the conventional sense. Which means Loas are one of the few races which technically might be able to "starve" the suul'kas when you think about it and how Loas colonizes worlds specifically.

It is arguably the case that Loa do not "have" life force because they ARE life force--beings of pure spirit, comprised of energy and data. But their form of life is very different from carbon-based life, and it operates on another frequency than conventional carbon psionics.

The universe is not a one-stringed instrument. Carbon-based life forms are plentiful, but they are not the only form of life and their entire Song is played upon only one string. Mecha empaths can hear the frequencies of other forms of matter; this is what gives them the special abilities and aptitudes that they possess, the connection to objects made of stone and steel.

It is true that Suul'ka cannot eat Loa, and that Loa have a tendency to disrupt their sources of food. But that does not mean that Loa cannot be food for anything else. This is not the case.

I was interpreting the Vitalist Principle to mean that their is a background life-force energy in the universe that drives and supports the existence of living beings.
My understanding was that you could use your own physical life force to power your psionics or the life force of others but that the eldest had gone beyond that and was feeding off the background life energy of the universe itself (or the life-energy of the "goddess" as the hiver might say).

If I'm right then weather or not the eldest has living beings to feed on doesn't seem that important to the survival of his mind (soul?), since this anti-entropic force is everywhere. So from this perspective starving him wouldn't be that effective.

Of course I could be completely wrong. :googly:

We do have confirmation that the Loa (The youngest) do wind up defeating the eldest.
I'm just wary of the amount of times in fiction "defeat" is not the same as "dead".

But I will admit that I am more or less grasping a straws, soooo perhaps we should move on.....

Why yes! And they are delicious. You can find them as items in the Pit. :)

I vote for caution here. The cheese in question is in the Pit. Will it try to eat us?

Probably ...but the real questions are how does modern hiver cheese wind up in an ancient suul'ka lab?... is hiver cheese really that good?
 Maybe I can bribe suul'ka by giving them cheese!
