morrigi living space

Post by wingren013 » Wed Mar 27, 2013 10:42 pm

Given the size of the morrigi how much of their ship is given over to living quarters? Does this differ from ship to ship? Does the Moru Khan's ship have larger quarters. Do mixed race ships have different architecture?

Well, if you look at the deck plans for the Morrigi cruiser..

..and compare with a hiver cruiser which (in game) probably has close to twice as many crew aboard.

Granted, that's an extreme example. Tarka ships also seem to have absolutely huge barracks, going by the deck plans, but then you also have to remember that of all the races in the SOTSverse the Morrigi are the most experienced space travelers and have a very strong cultural identification with it. I'm sure that factors in to how much space they need.

One thing which crossed my mind writing this though is how would the Liir serve on Morrigi ships? Would Liir living in the Confederation have their own version of the drowning?

liir don't serve on confederation ships because they are not black swimmers. The liiran citizens of the confederation are happy to confine themselves to civvy life.

Liir who wants to serve on the active on-board duty has to go through the medical check-up, tests and training and if they fit, then they are assigned to a ship. The problem is that most Liir are too empathic and I could imagine that some kind of "Drowning" must take place even though it would most likely just be stress tests to teach them how to deal with the space-life. Liir admirals could possibly be former Black Swimmers that do not wish to return to their homeworld if they saw too much pain and suffering, some Prester Zuul are present even within the Confederation so consolidation could be provided for them and given the nature of Crows, they will value and take a good care of a skilled and psionically adept veteran.

If I remember correctly, Liir living in the other empires tend to be former Blackswimmers who retired to a place where they would not poison the song of their homeworld.
