Could you all re-enable the Console thing for stuff like alltech? Yeah. I know its a silly question, but you all could put a warning in big fat shiny letters. "THIS HAS A CHANCE OF BREAKING YOUR GAME." so absurdly shiny that they cannot miss it.

I guess i'm just saying that, I've been playing the game for a while the normal way, but would love to be able to screw around again. No big deal. just asking, sorry.

Or will this cause legal ramifications too? Becuase if thats the case, Paradox can so kiss a frog.

There's a line of code you can put in one of the config texts to do this but I forgot/have no idea what it was.

They disabled that line of code I think.

Yeah I'm aware, but the one I am referring to is in a Race Text file, like the ones that determine research speed, prototype costs, tax values/effects etc etc. basically a modding aspect where typing in aforementioned line (different from the one you're thinking about) will unlock all the techs for the race you are playing.


anyway I did a little searching.

Open assets/base/Tech/techtree.techtree

Use the replace all function of the notepad; replace "<ResearchPoints>" with "<ResearchPoints>-"

Alright, The reason I wanted the Console is Alltech for one, only affects the PLAYER. Second, It gives all the benefits you'd get as if you researched it normally.

(I can still use the console, but I have to drag save to dev mode, then load it up in developer mode, then use console tha tway, then switch it back.) Its also easier for those who are rather inept at modding.

The only problem is some people used it in the past and then reported crashes and refused to accept they were doing something wrong with the console, tis why the devs disabled it in normal play.

Alltech gave the benefits? hmm I must be remembering incorrectly, I thought applied bonuses like AI Econ, didn't work with Alltech.
